The drummer WILL CALHOUN became a
household name in the world of rock as member of Living Colour, the flagship of the Black
Rock Coalition, in the 1980s. Calhoun was with the band from the very beginning and wrote
a part of their material, yet there’s much more to Calhoun’s musicianship than
being a rock-solid rock-drummer. A graduate of the Berklee School of Music, Will Calhoun
is a diploma-carrying music producer and a happy owner of the Buddy Rich Jazz Master
Award as well as a proud co-receiver of several Grammy’s (with Living Colour; also
with Wayne Shorter for the «High Life» album four years ago). A multi-talented
sticks-man, it’s no wonder Calhoun’s credited on the recordings of a wide
variety of original musicians: Harry Belafonte, Jack De Johnette, Dr. John, Pharaoh
Sanders, Marcus Miller and several others. |
