The
practice of nit-picking the best popular melodies of the day or indeed, yesterday
and giving them a reworking in a jazzee stylee must go back a really long way. To
the very beginning of jazz, evidently. Likewise the practice of putting a jazz-spin on the
Beatles tunes probably started as soon as the four Liverpoodlians had made their first
impact in Europe, then in America and the rest of the world.
As the great jazz artists of the past always paid homage to the popular standards of their
days, Beatlejazz take their hats off to the greatest body of music ever written. Thank you
Beatles and thank you Beatlejazz.
