«Dagö», they say, stands for «the island lying in the direction of the rising sun, in the language of the Vikings.» …What, seriously?! Well, bearing in mind that the Vikings were rather serious people, not particularly famous for their sense of humour, the above-cited explanation could be true. On the other hand, as of Dagö the band, some of them guys are actually pretty well known for their fun-loving nature, in Estonia at least. No, seriously. On the third hand, «there won't be any extensive exhibitions of minor-key mourning melodies, no dead-earnest explorations of complicated cosmic concepts in our music» – say they, Dagö the band. Instead, there's manly musicianship, improvisational inclinations, echoes of Nordic folklore, and possible surprises at every turn. (Says we).
