The name's a pretty
good clue about where it's at. Mambo Inn, a band of the vintage of 2000, makes no secrets
of its stylistic preferences and distant musical relatives. Mambo Inn sure does sport its
Latin flavours and bossa-spices proudly. (In the big picture, both mambo and bossa are
representatives of the Afro-Cuban-Latin-American rhythmic continuum.) Although attained in
the company of other co-players, most of Mambo Inn's personnel have previous
Jazzkaar-experience. Sirje Medell, the Inn's singer, is a truly seasoned
Jazzkaar-performer.
