Norwegian
bass player Sigurd Ulveseth assembled the current personnel of the quartet in 1993.
Thence this fine foursome a vital combination of ample Norwegian talent and an
American drum star has gigged at international jazz festivals and made the rounds
of New Yorks clubland. Collectively they have released two albums, «To Wisdom the
Prize» and «Infant Eyes», both favourably received by critics. Beside the group
activities, various solo projects and collaborations have been taken care of in each
quarter of the quartet.
The Sigurd Ulveseth Quartets oeuvre is modern jazz, which embraces original
compositions, arrangements of traditional melodies and a selection of themes penned by
Wayne Shorter, Steve Swallow, John Abercrombie.
