According
to Raul Vaigla, the Estonian bassman on this Finnish-Estonian joint venture, the Jazzkaar
gig will be only their second performance together. Viril’s very first live
appearance took place at last year’s «Yeasterday-Fest» in Pärnu, where they
performed their jazzy ethno-beat version of sir McCartney’s evergreenest tune. (As
did all the participants in that one-night-long event, yes.) On the nightclub date at
Jazzkaar, more popular classics may well get a modern, dance-directed makeover. By these
four venturers whose instrumental firepower comprises bass, sax, DJ-tools – and
didgeridoo!
