Tallinn International Festival Jazzkaar celebrates its 25th birthday from April 18 to 27 with more than fifty concerts and world stars! In addition to Pat Metheny Unity Group Jazzkaar confirms also four other wonderful artists concerts – Cassandra Wilsoni, Fatoumata Diawara, Edmar Castaneda and Nina Attal.
American singer, nominated the best jazz singer of the world numerous times and two-time Grammy winner Cassandra Wilson charms listeners with her passionate voice and enchanting presence. Long-awaited in Estonia, Cassandra Wilson will perform at Nokia Concert Hall on April 25th.
The world music star from Mali, singer Fatoumata Diawara has united her singer and acting career; she performs in the cinema, musicals and on stages all over the world. The exotic and warm music of the Malian beauty invites everyone to dance. Fatou’s concert is held at the Marina Pavilion on April 23rd.
The beautiful and mysterious instrument harp is not so common on jazz stages. The only virtuoso of this complicated instrument in the world of jazz is a young Columbian talent, charismatic and warm Edmar Castaneda. The concert of Edmar Castaneda will take place on April 23th at the Marian Pavilion.
Young French singer-songwriter-guitarist Nina Attal mesmerizes the audience with real stage power, fierce playing style and clear voice. Her magical compilation of blues, soul and funk drew the audience dancing at Elbjazz in Hamburg where she instantly became the favourite of Jazzkaar’s team. Nina Attal and her band will perform on April 24th at the Marina Pavilion.
The guitar king and 20-Grammy-winner Pat Metheny, the leader of the star band of Jazzkaar Pat Metheny Unity Group, has broadened the possibilities of his instrument and conquered the jazz stages of the world with his emotional playing. This time the No 1 jazz guitarist of the planet is touring Europe with his Unity Group – Chris Potter on sax, Ben Williams on bass, Antonio Sanchez on drums and Giulio Carmassi on percussions. The fresh album of this line-up will be on sale in February 2014. The concert of Pat Metheny Unity Group will take place on April 27th at Nokia Concert Hall.
