This year’s Chrismas Jazz festival opens a more luxorious gift bag than ever before. More than 30 concerts by musicians from 10 different countries will take place from November 29th to December 17th.

Among the traditions of the festival is the charity concert, where Estonian Radio childrens choir accompanied by jazz group sings to raise money for cure of newborn babies. This year the guest soloists are Helin-Mari Arder and Marko Matvere. Christmas Jazz has also two master class vocal ensembles – Rajaton from Finland, who declare that the voice is boundless; and Berlin Voices, who sound together amazingly well but are also known as strong soloist.

More beautiful vocal music will be performed by a young Irish-American singer Kate McGarry, who has been proved best by Down Beat magazine and many critics. Michael Manring from US will be showing his famous skills on the bass. Young singer Alina Rosktotskaya will perform with her Russian band. The festival will also present two of Europe’s finest piano trios – Marcin Wasilewski Trio and Bernardo Sassetti Trio. Antonio Placer Trio and Rosa Cedron will mix Spanish and French rhythms.

Many Estonian musicians will introduce their new albums. Sooäär/Erdmann Dessert Time cooperates with Norwegian singer Gine Anderssen and Siim Aimla has talented Finnish musicians playing with him, Kristjan Randalu performs with The TransAtlantic Collective that has already conquered many jazz stages. Hedvig Hanson presents her new album, and Laura Põlvere sings with the sax-guitar duo Raivo Tafenau – Ain Agan. Tõnu Naissoo paints winter landscapes with young singer Anna Põldvee and Andres Mustonen swings with evergreen Johann Sebastian Bach.
