Jazzkaar begins its Autumn Season with the traditional concert at the beautiful Kadrioru Palace Flower Garden. This time different generations are paying homage to Estonian favorite composer Raimond Valgre.

It’s been 95 years since Valgre was born but his songs remain timeless and keep ending up in the repertoire of young musicians. Every musician and every listener has their own relationship with his music. Uno Loop has sung Valgre throughout his creative path, the quartet lead by Markus Lattikas and young soloists Tuuli Taul, Silver Laas and Mirjam Dede are still discovering Valgre’s music for their generation of listeners. Valgre’s sincere music is again and again reviving the romantic emotions inside and around us letting every generation create a new kind of approach to it.

During his short life (Valgre died in 1949 at the age of only 36) he managed to compose nearly hundred individual songs. His whole creation is deeply intimate – like a diary molded into sounds. Here is the fairy tale of a bluebird heard from his mother as a child, the joy of first love, the great love for music, the gray soldiers uniform he was forced to wear at one point, the hope of returning home where he left his best years and beloved girl. In his songs everyone can find their own fairy tale and story of life.

The arrangements to Valgre’s music for the Sunday concert in Kadriorg have been made by young pianist Markus Lattikas. With him on the stage are Keio Vutt on saxophones, Madis Viksi on bass guitar and Kaarlo Nõmmsalu on drums with talented young singers Tuuli Taul, Silver Laas and Mirjam Dede and the legendary Uno Loop.

Tickets are on sale at Piletilevi (www.piletilevi.ee) and on location.
