Kruglov-Sooäär Quartet found in April 2010 has released three albums – “Karate” (Leo Records), “Sea Colours” (2012 SoLyd Records) and “The Mighty Five” (2014 Art Beat). All three records have been highly recognised amongst European and Russian jazz critics and audiences, especially the last album, where the quartet performs the music of Russian composers like Mussorgsky, Rimski-Korsakov, Borodin and Balakirev. Their new project, which will be first presented at Winter Jazz, will feature the music of Pjotr Tšaikovski. Saxophonist Aleksei Kruglov is one of the most famous Moscow jazz musicians, Jaak Sooäär, Mihkel Mälgand and Tanel Ruben belong to the top of the Estonian jazz scene, all four are also active on the international arena.
