Kristjan Randalu is one of the most remarkable pianists of his generation, who is valued as both a soloist, ensemble musician, composer and arranger. Randalu is one of the most active and wide-ranging Estonian jazz musicians in the world. Due to his versatile creative activity, he has represented Estonia at the world’s prestigious jazz festivals and influential concert stages, being valued as both a jazz and classical interpreter and composer. As a soloist, Kristjan Randalu has performed with renowned orchestras such as London Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, New Berlin Chamber Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, and ENSO. His piano playing sounds on more than 30 records, including a Grammy nomination in 2016 and the Jazz Album of the Year title from the Estonian Music Awards in 2012. In 2014, Randalu also received the annual prize of the sound art endowment of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia. In the beginning of April, Kristjan Randalu will be the first Estonian jazz artist to have an ECM published album.
