Hailing from Portugal, the singer-songwriter Salvador Sobral brought much-awaited fame to his homeland, winning the 2017 Eurovision edition with his heartfelt piano ballad “Amar Pelos Dois”. His 2016 debut album titled “Excuse Me” was a mixture of Latin America’s musical heritage, bossa nova and jazz, topped with Sobral’s emotive voice, ever conscious of his country’s musical traditions.

Originally studying psychology, Salvador recognised his real calling as music and has since shot into stardom in the Portuguese and Spanish speaking world. His musical diversity is showcased in the many different projects he has undertaken, among them being the lead vocalist for indie pop groups such as Alexander Search and Noko Woi, with whom he performed at the 2014 Sonar festival. The singer is also known as a political activist, having brought attention to the immigration crisis during the 2017 Eurovision contest and donating parts of his album sales to rescue funds. Having battled with health problems for a long time, the upcoming year heralds new beginnings for the singer, with plans to record a new album and return to the musical stages of the world, where he has been a long-missed figure.

Sobral will perform in Estonia as part of his ongoing tour “Excuse Me”.
