Vene Teater Laulab Jazzi

The Russian Theatre of Estonia and Jazzkaar are proud to present their first collaboration! On the 18th of December there will be a jazz concert in the Russian Theatre hall, where the theatre’s many talented actors and actresses will be singing alongside well-known jazz musicians – Janno Trump (bass, arrangements), Aleksandr Žedeljov (guitar), Joel Remmel (piano), Ramuel Tafenau (drums), and Jason Hunter (trumpet). 

Performing at Christmas Jazz is a challenge as well as a great creative success for the Russian Theatre. The project’s musical director is Aleksandr Žedeljov, composer and musical director of the theatre, who in 2021 won the award for best musical theatre composer. For this night, Aleksandr has put together a program of jazz classics, and the arrangements for the songs are made by Janno Trump. 

The Russian Theatre’s celebrated actors and multi-talents, Aleksandr Ivaškevitš, Jekaterina Kordas, Aleksandr Žilenko, Anastassia Tsubina, Marika Otsa, Viktor Marvin, and Eduard Tee will be singing their favourite jazz gems, familiar and perhaps even nostalgic to listeners, like “Let It Snow”, “Blue Moon”, “Killing Me Softly”, and many more. 

In the cold of mid-December, audiences will love and appreciate this heart-warming concert at this year’s Christmas Jazz.
