Jazzkaar opened its doors in Telliskivi Loomelinnak, the new venue of the Festival, on April 17 with several concerts. One of them, Deeper Sound.<\/p>\n
Deeper Sound’s\u00a0newest demonstration at Jazzkaar 2015 displayed new elements and dimensions of modern jazz. Raul S\u00f6\u00f6t himself stated that Deeper Sound is a sound belief in multiple dimensions.<\/span><\/p>\n Raul S\u00f6\u00f6t (saxophone), Keio Vutt (saxophone), Meelis Vind (bassclarinet), Allan J\u00e4rve (trumpet), Eduard Akulin (trombone), Paul Daniel\u00a0(guitar), Holger Marjamaa (piano), Peedu Kass (double bass), Kaspar Kalluste (drums) make up the jazz band Deeper Sound. It was founded by Raul S\u00f6\u00f6t in 1998.<\/p>\n Their musical career includes participation in the 2013\u00a0Tallinn Music Week<\/strong>\u00a0as well as a total of twenty live performances in 2014. However, their full sound and combined skills have an excellent reputation in Estonia and abroad.<\/p>\n Their newest demonstration at Jazzkaar 2015 displayed new elements and dimensions of modern jazz. Raul S\u00f6\u00f6t himself stated that Deeper Sound is a sound belief in multiple dimensions.<\/p>\n During the performance, the musicians played, following one another with bright musical tricks and techniques. A variety of different sounds was displayed, as well as as bright solo, so that the audience had to pep up the show emphasizing the tunes with claps and cheers. The combination of vibrating sounds made by the wind instruments, loud vibes given by bass and drums and tunes arranged by guitar and piano, portrayed together a very swing atmosphere.<\/p>\n However, the audience can not forget the role that the saxophone has played in the jazz history. Musicians such as\u00a0Ben Webster<\/strong>,\u00a0Charlie Parker<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0John Coltrane<\/strong>\u00a0for example were the first to feature its potentiality. The particular structure of this wind instrument allows to produce deep sounds as well as high tones in the same time. Raul showed excellent skills performing it on the stage, creating good vibes with an alternation of different multiples of quarter wavelengths.<\/p>\n The ensemble of the gig\u2019s tunes portrayed a lively atmosphere at Punane Maja, an industrial abandoned venue now used for concerts and cultural events. In addition, Reval Caf\u00e8’s corner contributed to create an easy-going background, giving the guests a possibility to join with a glass of wine during the concert. Although part of the audience was sitting in front of the stage, the whole atmosphere seemed to be really friendly, as the people were smiling and tapping cheerfully to the rhythm of gig.<\/p>\n Despite a shy spring slow to come in the cold Estonia, Jazzkaar has once again offered the people a chance to feel warm vibes, thanks to the great collaboration between municipality, staff, artists and contributors.<\/p>\n Raul S\u00f6\u00f6t and Deeper Sound Raul S\u00f6\u00f6t – saxophone
