Jazzkaar invites to free concerts’ day on April 23 in Telliskivi Creative City

On Sunday, April 23 from early morning til late hours new and breezy music will be heard in Telliskivi Creative City.


On free concerts’ day program you can find fierce family duos, exciting improvisational collectives, youthful energy and different kinds of projects. Program will broaden wider than ever under the spring sun. You can find complement jazz records in jazzrecords market. You can also participate in Charles Lloyd free throw competition and Ping pong tournament in Kalamaja.


Traditional bird wathcing walk will begin at 8 a.m., which will be carried on by ornithologist Peep Vaidla. Right after that you can continue our program with morning yoga with Kadi Reintam from MyFitness. Sounds will be made by the valued double bass player Peedu Kass.


All families can take part in jazzdance workshop and record cross-country game where as an awards, all participants get festival Jazzkaare merchandises. Jazz painting with Sally Studio’s artists and Johanna Mudisti are waiting all art friends to join them.


Some concerts are outside the Telliskivi Creative City, engrossing Pelgulinna Cultural Centre and our festivals’ favourite Old Town hotel courtyard, where you can have morning waffles and listen Estonian singer Hedvig Hanson.


Jazzrecords market takes place at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Red House. You can purchase both new and used vinyls and records, rarities and Estonian musicians new records.

In the afternoon you can attend concert performed by Kadri Voorand and Mihkel Mälgand and hear jazz talks by Elina Hokkanen and Johannes Laas, which is filmed by Viljandi Vibes.


Another special collaboration who is performing on free concerts’ day is a father-son duo Raivo and Ramuel Tafenau. There will be also performing The Notes who won Estonian Youth Band Award and Lepatriinu who was Festival Jazzkaare’s favourite artist prize in Estonian Youth Band Award. Lenna Kuurmaa will bring you beautiful music of Joni Mitchell in Velvet Agency and there are many more musical collectives who is worth discovering. Liisi Koikson will end this beautiful day by introducing her new album “Coffee For One“ in Vaba Lava.


All events during that day are free.
