Håkon Kornstad Solo (Norway)

The solo concert of Norwegian saxophonist, composer, and singer Håkon Kornstad is a singular experience, where the saxophone meets the human voice and the freedom of jazz merges with the expressiveness of opera. Emhanced by electronics and looping, his performances create both motoric and ambient soundscapes, drawing comparisons to Colin Stetson and The Caretaker. Kornstad’s work is fresh –surprising in the best way – and unconstrained by genre boundaries.
