26 May marks 100 years since the birth of Miles Davis, born in Alton, Illinois – an artist who would go on to become the most influential figure in 20th-century jazz. The musical legacy of this towering figure will be explored by Los Angeles-born trumpeter Jason Hunter, who now lives in Estonia and is an active member of the local jazz scene. Under Hunter’s direction, Aleksander Paal, Allan Kaljaste, Joel Remmel, Heikko Remmel, and Jussi Lehtonen bring the timeless power, melodic depth, and fearless creative energy of Miles Davis’s compositions to life on the Jazzkaar stage.
