News

April, the month of International Jazz Appreciation, is around the corner and the ticket prices for Jazzkaar concerts are set low until the end of March.

The month of jazz will be celebrated with the world’s leading jazz musicians and the most outstanding new Estonian jazz albums. Estonian top jazz artists, like Captain Kirke and The Klingons, launch their music just on time for the Jazzkaar jubilee festival. MaiGroup finished recording a new album under the hand of the legendary director Jim Scott in Santa Monica. Joel Remmel’s latest LP “Sharp” is also waiting on the tray. The anticipation to hear Estonian brightest stars Liina Saare, Liisi Koikson, Maria Faust-Tim Dahl-Weasel Walter and The Swingin’ Sisters comes to an end.

Bobby McFerrin’s and Judith Hill’s concerts are already completely SOLD OUT. We have also closed the ticket sales for Lenna Kuurmaa & Mick Pedaja’s night concert. Tickets are going fast for the headliners shows: Joshua Redman, John Scofield and Mark Guiliana’s Beat Music. Do not miss out on the performances of these jazz legends!

The interest is at its peak for our club night shows with Jungle By Night, paris_monster, Kurad Saar, Sofia Rubina and Disco Tallinn. We are extremely excited to bring the beloved Norwegian singer/ multi-instrumentalist Bernhoft’s ensemble The Fashion Bruises. The energy bars are raised high for the American hip-hop artist and singer Oddisee and his live band Good Compny.

The most special moments for Jazzkaar’s jubilee festival will certainly be the opening and the closing concert. Kirke Karja and Mingo Rajandi will perform their rewritten, in depth take on Erkki-Sven Tüür and Lepo Sumera’s music. The closing concert with Raivo Tafenau’s band is going to remind meaningful memories of the first Jazzkaar festival that took place in 1990.
