Raul Vaigla, Marie Vaigla, Tero Saarti „Thulest viidud“

Raul Vaigla, a leading figure in the local music scene and a renowned bassist, will take the Autumn Jazz stage together with Marie Vaigla and Tero Saarti to perform timeless gems from Ultima Thule’s golden repertoire. “Thirty-six years with Ultima Thule have undoubtedly been the most important part of my musical life. These songs have become a part of me – and there is no way to root them out,” Raul Vaigla reflects. The Autumn Jazz concert will showcase lesser-heard selections from the band’s catalog – songs that haven’t been performed on stage as often as the hits we typically associate with Ultima Thule.

Joining Raul on stage for the evening is vocalist and musician Marie Vaigla, who has been part of Ultima Thule’s concerts since childhood – both in the audience and on stage. Many music lovers will recognise her from the indie-pop band Frankie Animal. The Vaiglas will be accompanied by Finnish trumpeter Tero Saarti, who has been performing with Raul for over two decades. “Tero and I have been playing together since 2004, when my first solo album Soul of Bass was released,” Raul writes. “We have performed music ranging from Miles to Hendrix – and now, Ultima Thule,” he adds.
