The organising team of Jazzkaar 2020 Festival announces that due to the state of emergency declared in Estonia and the health risks posed by the coronavirus, Jazzkaar 2020 will be postponed from 17 until 26 April 2020 to 9 until 14 October at Telliskivi Creative City.
Jazzkaar 2020 Festival will be postponed to 9 until 14 October 2020, turning Vaba Lava and Fotografiska in Telliskivi Creative City into the jazz hub of autumnal Tallinn. We have commenced negotiations with all artist who were scheduled to perform at the festival in April and hope that as many of them as possible will be able to delight our jazz friends also in October. The new festival programme includes long-awaited artists who were set to perform in April, such as Rymden (Norway-Sweden) and Niklas Paschburg (Germany), as well as several local favourites. More detailed information about performers at the postponed festival will be provided by 31 March 2020.
Unfortunately, Jazzkaar 2020 Festival cannot be postponed to October maintaining exactly the same programme, because many of the artists who were to perform at the festival in April are among the world’s most prominent jazz musicians with touring and concert schedules agreed well in advance. However, several foreign and domestic musicians have confirmed their participation at the jazz celebration in autumn. We are grateful to all of our partners for their understanding and cooperation and will keep the general public and all jazz lovers up to date.
In this difficult situation, Jazzkaar Festival encourages culture lovers to exchange their concert tickets for the same artist’s concert on a new date or to support the survival of the festival with their ticket purchase. We understand that the new dates of the festival may not be suitable for everyone and Jazzkaar 2020 Festival therefore also offers refund or exchange of tickets from 1 until 30 April. Detailed information about ticket exchange and refunds will be disclosed on 31 March 2020.
The Jazzkaar team will continue to work on finding new dates for concerts by international and Estonian musicians. We will provide updated information by 31 March 2020 at the latest.
Stay safe and see you soon!
